Sew much fun!

Sewing club 1980 something.

When I was a kid, I loved playing Barbies and would draw many cool outfits then try to make them with bits of fabric from old clothes or stuff in the craft bin. I had amazing women in my life that taught me cake decorating, sewing, and ceramics. They were talented and shared those talents with me.

Today, I want to tell you about my Aunt Charlotte. Aunt Charlotte is talented in many ways; she's a great cook, a talented seamstress and a kick-ass golfer (she wins the club championship every year!) She is the closest sister in age to my mom, so they were always inseparable before my mom passed. Our families did everything together; family vacations, shopping trips and Sundays at the Woolstrum farm. One summer, Aunt Charlotte decided to teach her daughters, their friends and me how to sew more in-depth projects. I made a skirt, a jacket, and a stuffed goose that we used as a door jamb for a long time.

It was a great summer full of wonderful memories!

Do you sew? Did you have mentors that taught you? Share a comment and tell me about it!
